Mugabe Were shot dead
January 29, 2008 by Seasons
News coming in early this morning is that Mugabe Were the new Embakasi MP has been shot dead. It is still not clear the circumstances leading to the killing but it is said that he was shot outside the gate of his house just after midnight.
This is shocking and i suspect it was politically motivated. In my opinion the iligitimate government is resorting to killing politicians to gain numbers in the house. No amount of intimidation will stop kenyans from demanding justice. RIP Hon Were
correction - Illegitimate government
i cant believe my humble MP is Dead. Kenyans something is Wrong. lets pray. Dandora is wailling where he had great support and where he grew up.
with my understanding the kenyan government is known for political assassinations. this of mugabe were is new one but more are to follow. kibaki must go now. blood for blood. with moi installed tactics many hardline politicians will be assassinatated. this is to undermine koffi annan’s mediation efforts.
Hey is a sad story and we are all not happy with the way things are happening around us. I wish to remind our President and his regitimate or ilegitimate government to take a swift action to save our country. Lest they be kicked out. For how long will we live in fear. RIP Hon Were.
….this is just way too sad, RIP mheshimiwa. Bwana Obala, I disagree with you on your call for blood for blood, you know what, only the poor are suffering the most. The poor who can not afford luxurious life like yours of owning a computer and being behind doors, you need to be on the ground and see how people are suffering esp in kibera and huko nyumbani kisumu city….. i was there and i saw….kwahivyo be greatful of your daily meal, chance to be on the computer and life that you are enjoying in that place of yours coz huko kibera ni mambo ingine daddy. People are hungry forget about blood for blood, you can not believe this is kenya
shocking shocking. All we can say is RIP Hon Were. I hope this doesnt mean ODM mps are now being eliminated one by one. I hope im wrong. but this is politically motivated. it was a direct shot to the forehead after being dragged out of his car! God help us all.
Am dumbfounded at the turn of events. No doubt there more than meets the eye in this. Were is a political assassination case. This is why Kenya must awake and realise the enormity of tribal politics. If this is not contained, who knows, you and may well be the next victim. Am afraid,so afraid that this is the Kenya we never wanted.
NO PEACE WHETHER WHAT OR WHAT NOW BECAUSE THE ILLEGITIMATE GOVERNMENT HAS NOW PROVED WHAT IT WILL DO TO OUR POLITICIANS AND SO WE WILL NOW ENGAGE WHATEVER FORCE THEY EMPLOY.
IT IS A MATTER OF AN EYE FOR AN EYE BECAUSE MR KIBAKI WANTS TRUCE SO THAT HE CAN CONTINUE HIS UNWANTED AND UNWARRANTED LEADERSHIP.
The demise of Mugabe Were is definitely sad, particulalry the timing when the country is divided along political and ethnic lines.
The death should be fully investigated.
I however disagree with Obala that ‘blood for blood’ should be the response.
How much blood must be shed before we gain our senses as Kenyans?
There is no difference in Kukuyu, Luo, Luhya or Kalenjin blood, human life is supreme and equal.
We must focus on way forward, which is definitely dialogue, however difficult this may be for us all.
it is quite sad that such a tragic incident can happen in the middle of the ongoing mediation efforts. i have no doubt that this senseless act was a manuovre by the ruling party to gain more numbers in parliament. My heart gors out to the family of Mugabe Were and I pray and hope that the police will be impartial enough to get to the bottom of this
I suspect ODM did this to inflame the Luhya’s against the government…I wouldn’t put it past them. They are using all tactics at hand.
I think its the ODM guyz assassinated him to gain sympathy.. don’t mistake me its just an opinion like everyone else.
FRANK YOU ARE ANOTHER ONE FROM IDIOCY COLLEGE AND YOUR VIEWS WILL NEVER BE BOUGHT IN ANY BLACK MARKET.
ODM STANDS FOR WHAT A COMMON MWANANCHI WANTS REGARDLESS OF HIS/HER ETHNICITY.SO DON’T TRY TO USE YOUR DIRTY TONGUE IN TRYING TO SET LUHYA’S AGAINST THE REMAINING TRIBES FORMING THE ODM.
I think we should be careful in assuming the Killing was politic al and blaming either side. Who knows? it could have been business related.
Mugabe was a councilor previously and could have made enemies.
I cannot rule out politics but I cant see what value politically he would provide both PNU and ODM. If it was political, I guess they would kill a “bigger” person in terms of visibility
RIP Hon. Were, the sad state of affairs continues hiiting us and now they have started to eliminate opossition MPs. It takes great pains to come to real democracy, where is Kibaki? Cant he even just stand out and say something… even if its wacha wakufee tuuu? I thought he said he is duly elected!!!
http://pandashuka.wordpress.com/2008/01/29/nairobi-tense-as-city-mp-is-assassinated/
Seasons, I think its political because it could just be an indicator to the ‘bigger’ mps that they too can be finished. My 2 cents though.
Whoever did the killing should know we don’t need to have any more deaths. It is quite unfortunate and deeply saddening. like we need more instability
I think this Govt is retorting to extremely desperate measures and i strongly believe the hand of his bitter rivals in the EMBAKASI PARLIAMENTARY SEAT cannot be ruled out.
The famous Mtindwa Market has been set ablaze n the common mwanainchi is NOW IS WONDERING where next is this cycle of VIOLENCE headed to
@Frank & mwanachi, typical Kikuyu arrogance, blaming everything on ODM. Why would they do that when they have such a slim majority in parliament plus Mugabe won in Embakasi coz the Gema vote was divided and a by election in Embakasi will definitely go to PNU?
This is how Kibaki and his cronies operate, they killed Odhiambo Mbai of constitutional review just to try and derail the process. they have killed Mugabe coz they they are not at all interested in the Kofi Annan talks. I watched Kimunya and Saitoti on TV yesterday and it is clear they are not relenting.
What Kenya needs now is a full fledged war, let us die because every good thing comes with a sacrifice. years from now, those of us who survive will be telling their grand childen that an election was stolen at KICC in broad daylight and the kids are like ” You must be joking”.
The war has started, people are arming themselves. As I post this, the road to Uganda is blocked, next is the railway line, then the pipeline, we shall see what Kibaki will be left with. We are that desperate, we are ready to pay the ultimate price with our lives.
When you say ‘we’ do yo0u mean that you are carrying your laptop with wifi in the streets or on the road to Uganda? How are you updating this? Am kidding but this line of thought is exactly why we are in this situation. Peace is what we should be calling for and not tribal vitriol!
It’s sad, we all crying for peace and justice, but all we can see is injustice, cruelity by police killing innocent people and now it’s heading to our captains. The world has changedand all the people want to see is transparency of the democracy. We respect and morn with the families of the lost ones, but what lessons are we learning?
Mugabe Were has been my MP for the past one month. His death is politically instigated and Kibaki should just step down and let Kenyans live their lives. Mungiki Supports Kibaki with the likes of Ndura Waruinge, why didn’t they stop his peace demonstrations in the city whilst they barricade Uhuru Park for ODM’S Mass Action.
Kibaki is no good for this country at all. He surrounds himself with Yoweri Museveni who is a professional militia man. My children cannot go to school coz of him being in power.
Truth be told no one is without sin but this illegitimate government is doing us no good. Watch the turn of events and you will hear the blame fall onto Kalonzo Musyoka, Phogisio and Livondo,Wetangula and the rest of the scapegoats being used by this government.
I urge all to embrace peace. Its cheap and we will not use tax payers money to host Koffi Annan, Graca Machel-Mandela and Mkapa.
PEACE.
HA! This is not a surprise to me; not at all. Sources close to the ground have confirmed that just days before his assassination Mugabe Were had broke ranks with ODM. Mugabe Were was seriously against ODM strategy of mass action and economic boycott as way forward. It is also interesting that Mr. Mugabe had been cautioned by Mr. Raila should he contemplate in breaking ranks during the party nominations. It is not a surprise that he has been shot and any ODM mp thinking of defecting should BE CAREFUL.
This article can be found in the nation and other blog sites. A link has been posted below should it make it through this BLOG. I will keep you updated through this blog and other channels.
Before anyone says I am blocking anything, I see no link posted here.
It seems that the shooting could have been linked within ODM itself so at to deter any MP’s from opposing the opposition tactics.
This is all ODM propaganda; they definitely picked the weakest link and used the poor guy as the sacrificial lamb. I fear for other ODM leaders who have broken ranks with ODM as they may be targeted. RIP my friend, justice is not far.
People are not stupid, we can see how people are being manuplated. Few selfish individuals who think, they will never die and be judged are the cause of all these evil, demonic acts, they enjoy to see people shadeblood and kill one another. Yet, we know the trueth, all of us we were watching from the word go, campaigning, polls, and even one by one the tallying of votes. We have enjoyed peace in the country ever since, now the poor people are shedding blood and loosing everything they have always worked for. Shame on you, Ibilisi.
It does not take a political scientist to figure this out. This are the facts:
-Mugabe were was thinking of defecting ODM BUT NOT FORMING RANKS WITH pnu.
-The opposition is desparately trying to drive the luhya community into the skirmishes that have left so many people dead.
and that they will do anything to instill fear on any opposition MP THINKING OF DEFECTING.
Whereas this makes sense, I think these are just nuances and hearsay. We can just speculate unless someone can produce facts
This fellows ODM ARE REALLY PULLING out all the cards due to sheer desparation. Once again, we have lost a beloved kenyan MR. MUGABE WERE. Our champion and a campaigner for peace, stability and equality in Kenya. ODM just as they have instigated violence amongst kenyans are not about to stop but they are inducing more bloodshed. Our country is bleeding but do not loose faith my brothers and sisters, just like our champion who recognized the evil behid ODM, WE WILL NOT TIRE UNTIL JUSTICE PREVAILS.
Speculation again. Are we so polarized politically that we cannot entertain the thought that this could be anything other than politics?
Oh! here is the link that dates back to december where MR RAILA is said to have cautioned Mr were during the party nominations about the consequences of defecting. It seems that WERE and RAILA have not been in good terms.
http://politics.nationmedia.com/inner.asp?fs=1&sid=972
Reading through the article, I think Raila was addressing all defectors in general and was not addressing MR. Were in particular. Nothing in the article suggest what you are claiming.
Kenneth for your information, the luhya was in the skirmishes as from 30th Dec. Go back to your records and you will see that Western province had more deaths that even Nyanza. Thats so cheap!!!
Its the Mungiki of Embakasi lead by Mwenje and Waititu on a killing rampage. they couldnt stand the area being led by a Luhya.
Mgash & anonymous- pure lies Why would an MP want to defect when he watched an election being stolen from him? as a luhya, the people of Nyanza, Western and Rift know the situation on the groung and will never contemplate leaving ODM an easy target in ODM for PNU would be the MPs from Coast. They dont really have high stakes in ODM and can easily decamp.
Try another lie….
thanks a lot moderator. Unlike other blogs you are at least letting Kenyans have a say. those comments are helpful in keeping the topic in focus.
thank you
You are welcome. I do not moderate the comments
Were never thought of defecting. The gov thought they could purchase him cheaply as they did purchase Kalonzo to support pnu and gov of propaganda. But he was a lion ” Simba akinyeshewa hatoroki” now they are looking forward for by election so that they can be majority in perliament, Odm will still win. With what we have seen,Kibaki empossing himself to lead kenya? we will never forget and never will we vote him. The guy is ready to retire. God forbid. Compare him with presidents from other countries. Kibaki be agentleman and hand over to your son Jimmy. Everybody knows Kibaki was defeated, who doesn’t know? Stopping damaging country and splitting it even more mr.K
This comment is a lil’bit suspicious. Why would Raila issue such a comment? what does he mean by devastating? was Raila all to aware that kenya will be the way it is now? You cannot definately prepare the people to fight in case the loose an election. You cannot insight people to take arms even before the elctions have been held. It seems ODM never contemplated defeat and that they had a plan B IN CASE THE LOST THE ELCTION. This again is all speculation but it does raise an eyebrow on how the campaign was conducted.
“He warned the Electoral Commission of Kenya against toying with the idea of rigging elections, saying the repercussions would be devastating.”
annon @29 here is the link to that comment
http://politics.nationmedia.com/inner.asp?fs=1&sid=972
Reading through the article, I think Raila was addressing all defectors in general and was not addressing MR. Were in particular. Nothing in the article suggest what you are claiming.
Guyz wake up!
No amount incitement will help us out of the chaos unless u dont care about the vulnerable in the streets, villages and low cost settlements. Where has our reasoning gone to. We r supposed to stop this, we hae engaged our police officers in Extra-ordinary activities that the guyz with personal selfish motives are having a field day. Lets stop this. We are religious society, Lets get acting.
This is quite funny. At this time, we do not want to hear this!
Whats funny? What don’t you want to hear? That an MP was killed? It is true( Notice I did not use assassinated)
Were never thought of defecting. The gov needs numbers to have majority in parliament, My Mpis dead (RIP Mugabe), the will will of the people will still sail through & Odm will still win the seat back. Those goons were hired and money paid for their services, I think we all now where the money came from…Najuta kuwa mkenya!!!!!!
MODERATOR: I think even if the article is just general it kind of shows how far Raila is prepared to go to become the president. He has not only incited reprisal within his own party but within the wider kenyans. I think you will agree with me that such comments on the eve of a heavily disputed election were not worthy and could have incited hatred.
hi.
I totally agree with Juma “we are ready to pay the ultimate price with our lives”.The legitimately elected president of this country is still Raila Odinga
The gloom, doom and utter uncertainty that this country has been plunged into following the callous theft of the general election of December 27th 2007, is the direct responsibility of the fascist regime currently in power and the irredeemably tainted Electoral Commission Kenya. If the illegitimate fascist regime currently ruling Kenya is allowed to get away with this felony by it’s continued stay in
power, then this country is doomed forever.
Our prayers are with the family , and relatives May the Lord give them strength during this time.Hon Were will remain an inspiration to us all.
If the ECK Chair does not know who won the elections, how would we know? Let us remember it is not you and I sited in front of our computers that are fighting but those people out there incited by our politicians. It will be sad when the middle class starts fighting- and we are many. If that happens, who do I fight and I belong to two of the ethnic groups fighting?
DEAR KENYANS,
TODAY IS A SAD DAY IN EMBAKASI. MY HEARTFELT CONDOLENCES, MY BROTHER HON. WERE REST IN PEACE. IT IS A TIME TO REASON DO NOT HARM YOUR NEIGHBOR KENYA IS OURS, LET US NOT PLANT SEEDS OF HATE. I APPEAL TO TOP LEADERSHIP TO CALL FOR A REPEAT ELECTION SO AS TO LEGITIMIZE AND GIVE CREDENCE TO THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT AND ALLOW THE PEOPLE TO EXERCISE THEIR DEMOCRATIC RIGHT. I PROPOSE A UNITED NATIONS SUPERVISED ELECTION. REST IN PEACE MY BROTHER.
MARY ANGELA KAMENE KIMWELE(CANDIDATE 2007 MP EMBAKASI )
Well said! It is not time for war. I still believe we can overcome this.
kenyans need to repent to God and pray. This is our country, all of us, and we must keep it. We need our God to come down.
I STAND FOR PEACE.
This is a spiritual problem. We need a spiritual solution.
WHO SAID MPS CANNOT BE SHOT BY THUGS LIKE OTHER KENYANS? MAYBE ITS A WAKE UP CALL FOR THEM TO STOP THINKING OF CDF FUNDS WHEN OTHER KENYANS ARE DYING. COWARDS MAKE THREATS ONLINE, AND I HAVE READ ALOT OF COWARDLY COMMENTS OF GUYS WITH TAILS STUCK BETWEEN THEIR LEGS SITTED NEXT TO COMPUTERS.
PRAY FOR PEACE OF IF YOU WANT BLOOD GO GET IT. DONT SHOUT HOT AIR HERE.
At last! Someone else who entertains the thought that this could also be the usual insecurity in Nairobi
POLICE ALERT
FIRST SUSPECT OF WERE’S MURDER
1. Mary Angela Kamene Kimwele, Embakasi Parliamentaly aspirant who terribly lost to Hon. Were.
Motivation: 800, 000 kshs per month
Come on now… is this called for? I may not moderate comments but did you have to post that?
In all this maze, I’m just wondering, where is Kibaki. He said he was dully elected. We need an assurance, a calming statement from him, coz that’s where the buck is at. It’s not funny out here. Yesterday I was in an appartment where goons wanted to burn coz someone from another community was there. I had to rush back home to secure my stuff, coz I was already moving to a friend’s house to help. He was away and thugz moving to his house coz his landlord is from an undesirable community. WE NEED KIBAKI TO STAND AND BE COUNTED. This cant be done by installing 1000 police officers in Uhuru Park, while there is none in Kuresoi, Naivasha highway, and my estate whe people are targeted door to door.
politicks is dirty an everyone should be ready for the consequences.but Were RIP.
We are Mourning Hon Melitus Mugabe Were.
You cannot, and I repeat cannot RULE an unwilling population…
There cannot be and should not be any attempt to negotiate an obvious violation and abuse of office. Doing so will only further worsen an already deeply troubling situation. None of the so called high profile mediators currently in Kenya, voted in the general election of 27th December 2007, and their presence is of no value whatsoever to the masses who voted for Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). The continued presence of these impostors on Kenyan soil and their empty attempts at purported mediation,
only serves to further infuriate and insult the overwhelming majority that voted for ODM. It is only those that voted for ODM, almost an entire nation, that should be consulted for any mediation or negotiation whatsoever. Such “consultations” were however concluded by way of the ballot box on the 27th of December 2007, before a thief known as Samuel Kivuitu callously reversed the peoples’ decision on Sunday, 30th December 2007. In the interest therefore of posterity, this country, it’s people, it’s institutions and it’s future, Mwai
Kibaki should immediately step down as President of Kenya, to pave way for the legitimately elected President of Kenya, Raila Amolo Odinga, to be sworn in, and immediately form an ODM government. Nothing else whatsoever can restore and/or sustain any semblance of faith in this country, it’s future or it’s institutions. The power to effect regime change squarely lies with the citizens of this country and no one whosoever has the right to stand in the way of this right. This right was jointly violated on Sunday, 30th December 2007, by a bunch of hooligans known as
the Electoral Commission of Kenya and the illegitimately sworn in President, Mwai Kibaki. Faith in this country and it’s institutions had already been severely strained prior to “Black Sunday”, 30th December 2007, and the announcement of Kibaki’s “victory” came as a devastating blow to the vast majority of desperate masses who had anticipated hope and change by overwhelmingly backing.
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM)
We mourn today, ODM’S Mugabe Were……let the culprits be brought to book.
Assuming the election was stolen, did they steal over 4 million votes? I know the election was flawed but I don’t subscribed to the view that ”almost an entire nation” voted Raila. I voted for Kibaki( and there are times recently I regret doing so) and I know many who voted for him. I subscribe to the notion that the situation is beyond politicians.. it is the citizenry who will decide to stop fighting.
WHO MOURNS FOR 800 + WANJIKUS, ATIENOS, LANGATS WHO ARE NOT MPS? WHEN HAVE I SEEN SO MANY COMMENTS SO FAST ALL MOURNING FOR NON MPS????
WE ARE ALL A BUNCH OF HYPOCRITES IN CROCODILE TEARS…
THE KENYANS WHO HAVE LOST LIVES HAVE LOVED ONES ALSO. THEIR LIVES ARE NOT LESS IMPORTANT.
ERIC KIRAITHE SHOULD KNOW THAT EVEN THE GOATS KNOW MORE THAN HE KNOWS.
YOU SHOULD NOT HOODWINK US YOU ARE THE PEOPLE MESSING AROUD THE KENYA WE KNEW.
REMEMBER YOU CAN’T KILL THE PLUS 22 MILLION KENYANS WITH YOUR DAMN BULLETS.
HAKI IWE NGAO NA MLINZI.
Kudos Johnny..
Tribally programmed police bullets are gracing the skies of Naivasha and the embers are spreading fast to the capital Nairobi. What next? Only Kenyans can afford the luxury of making peace with friends and not enemies as the laws of nature demands. The war is on and the faint hearted are better advised to keep their self-serving cheap sermons to themselves and be real.
The thin thread holding Kenya together is threatening to snap, and very soon. The facade that is national unity has been shattered by one single blow. Don’t ask me by who because Kenyans unrivalled in the shameless act of self denial. We are a unique human bread who gloss over historic and systematic injustice while hiding under such buzzwords as market economy.
Truth hurts and is very ugly. The genesis of our present problems lies in deep seated tribal rivalries over LAND, BUSINESS and POWER. We have a ruling elite with a willing supporting tribal cast who will stop at nothing to maintain status quo. To them other Kenyans seeking equity are power hungry and must be decimated with all bullets Kenya can buy.
One thing is for sure KENYA WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN, NEVER. Unless and until we drop pretense and boldly confront the existing INEQUALITY and deception sown more than 44 years ago, we are cheating ourselves by engaging in half measures that will only make the fundamental problem mutate with devastating consequences sooner rather than latter.
These are closing comments.we go into a meeting in 5.Thx.
I am so sad that the honorable MP had to die this way, but i am so sorry that many kenyans are pshycofans and are blind to the lives lost in Kisumu, eldoret, Nakuru, Naivasha that are over 2000.
Somebody said its the beginning of war God forbid. Another one said they will uproot rail and more, what has the iron metals on the rail done? do they belong to Kibaki or Raila? who suffers most? Raila and Kibaki will be given asylum incase of war and they have foreign accounts i wonder if one advocating for war will be given asylum.
We need peace to stop this senseless killings, be objective and preach peace.
Ok Guys it seems like the rules of engagement have now changed. It’s time for all disgusted kenyans to arm themselves(with guns -no more machetes) and prepare for war.Anybody who still thinks that we are not in a civil war is going to be caught totaly unaware. We are officially at war and people will pay for their freedoms with their lives. It happened in America when the south refused to give up their slaves just like shit head kibaki is refusing to give up the presidency.Lives had to be sacrifised to free the slaves and lives will have to be sacrifised to free kenyans(who are enslaved in their own country). So kikuyus beware that ;history repeats itself and you are all going down just like the south succumbed to the north.
Rip Were
The General
In my opinion, this has nothing to do with the presidency anymore. This has everything to do with ethnic hatred like you just spewed here. We are not at war but we can decide to continue killing each other whilst the politicians sit pretty. Don’t be naive’. I will not fight for Raila or Kibaki. By the way am half kyuk..so should I tell my parents to start killing each other and kill half of me?
odm’ers, don’t go ahead of yourselves. It has proved be a no go zone. Anyway, go ahead and you will find the kind justice that awaits you the end of this dark tunnel. Talking up behind a computer isn’t doing you any good, dialouge is was not structured for people like you. Odm’ers, you only undertsand one language and we can only speak to you in that langauage if you wish. You will notice that a Lion sits in silence while its prey lingers about the imminent danger that’s about to befall. Like a Lion, the kenyan people will roar and when we pounce none of you will be left scribbling any comments than the otherwise.
sam okello, are u here? mmmmm IP
Yeah right moderator.Maybe this has nothing to do with the president.Maybe we are just beating the shit out of each other because we are bored.Dont be so naive.
And obviously you did not read my full text. It moved beyond the presidency a long time ago. This has turned to be an ethnic affair. To quote you - are you “beating the shit out of each other” because you will gain from the presidency? That is the naivety that is making you ‘beat the shit out of each other’
thank you moderator, some of these people cannot even think beyond the pangas and machetes. all they know is that one langauge. There is no need to take a donkey to the river nor teach an old dog new tricks.
Kikuyus,Adolf hitler and saddam hussein were both more intelligent ,tougher and had a bigger army than your shit head kibaki.Thats until a unexpected enemy came and took them out while they were clouded in the midst of their own superiority complex. You wont see this one coming but you all need to start preparing yourselves.D day is around the corner.
Mugabe was such a generous gentleman. I voted for him. I Personally know him. I remember him coming to my house during his door to door campaigns.
I am terribly shocked, am wordless. Kenya is burning. It is us, to kill the fire, not the leaders. I know my neigbours pretty well. what do I gain in harming them ?
RIP Melitus.
I too met the man when he was at City hall. It is sad he had to go this way
the general, hi kupayuka kwako is the very essence we are in turmiol right now. I urge to not to take out your frustrations during blogging. instead, there are blogs that will be more accomodating to your dialogue limitations. Oh! may be you were spammed and that is why you are here. Anyway, keep on entertaining us and I thank the moderaotr for letting you express the freedom of speech.
No amount of intimidation will stop us kill us all if you want Kibaki toka we are fed up of you. You are so unpopular, illegitimately sitted in the office history will judge you.The fact is swallow it or not most kenyans dont want you.
You’ll perish with your sidekicks Karua ,michuki A BIG SHAME PEOPLE WANT TO RULE BY FORCE.WE DONT WANT YOU.
Rest in Peace Mugabe Were.
Sorry I dont entertain expletives here..so I deleted that last bit.
Private eye and all voices of reason, Maximum respect for your comments. While I condole with the family of the fallen MP, I fully agree that the life of any Kenyan is sacred and nobody, whatever the reason, has any right to think of killing another. Tribe, status, gender and age are irrelevant. Let’s not be hypocrites who desecrate these esteemed forum with cheap thoughts when we should be preaching peace to guarantee the survival of our beloved Kenya. We must unite as KENYANS and rid our leadership of all spineless leaders who do not lose a moment’s sleep or skip a meal due to the loss of one of their “subjects”. When shall all Kenyans respect each other as Kenyans instead of dancing to the tune of politicians who thrive on stoking the ethnic fire. When shall we realize that even the current crisis is calculated to serve the future survival of politicians who cannot appeal to the liberated demands for proper leadership by a united Kenya. Where are the patriots of reason.
Is it not depressing that some of us here in this forum who can afford computers and internet (presumably the Kenyan middle class) still reason like the mindless thugs whose brains have been hijacked by self-seeking mad politicians to kill and maim and ruin the same infrastracture that serves them. If we can not reason above those killing each other in the name of politicians, it is a sad road that we shall travel as Kenyans.
Fellow Kenyans, don’t look up to the current crop of politicians to save us. They all, government and opposition alike, have let Kenya down at its most desperate hour. They all see this as a godsent opportunity to gain personal political mileage.
We must preach peace, we must raise a new crop of leaders worthy of their name. We must demand total accountability. And this is the moment.
God save our motherland.
where did all the bloggers go
Kenyan bloggers go slow in the afternoon whilst diaspora bloggers come in when we are asleep
Annonymous & Co incl the moderator, computers are now cheap so it shouldnt be a yardstick for gauging ones seriousness in their quest for justice. Yes Im behind a PC in the safety and cormfort of my home but im also prepared mentally and physically for the outcome of the talks. Lets give the mediation a chance ..Its the second week, I gaurantee if nothing comes out of it before the third, you shall be reporting Kibaki’s assylum applications.
You missed my point completely..I asked the commenter what he meant by ‘we’ coz as far sa I know the thugs blocking the road have no WIFI..unless he is funding them. If there was ‘injustice’ it was not commited by poor Kenyans in rift valley..so why kill them. Am I guilty by association coz am half kyuk?
Tell me people ,does it mean that if an election is rigged that anybody deserves to die?How blind can we be to being misused by politicians……
Kibaki and odinga are both wasting their time. They are no longer in charge and the poor kenyans have already made up their minds that they are both better of dying a quick death than a slow painful poverty death which they will endure regardless of who becames president.
The only two choices these people have is for peace to come back and they go back to their miserable less than a dollar a day life or for total war and hope for a real change for the first time in their lives. Each individual will personally make that choice for themselves
[...] Mugabe Were shot dead News coming in early this morning is that Mugabe Were the new Embakasi MP has been shot dead. It is still not clear the […] [...]
REST IN PEACE MUGABE WERE but we need the FBI OR THE Scotland yard to investigate this political assasination because the kenya police is incompetent and with this illegitimate govt will not do as any good so with an independent body should probe the killing and put an end to all this form of injustices to all our fallen soldiers
The country is shutting down, they say 400,000 jobs will be lost, reporters are beng threatened,a gag on the media by the govt is still in place, rail and road transport will be crippled, militia have regrouped (BTW why was Mungiki not completely squashed they were left to lie low… recruit some more..). Whatever happened to the Raphael Wanjala dude whose car had some goods that were intended to arm certain individuals. When they say the violence was planned, before elections his party should tell us who the generals are.!! We are experiencing civil war, tribal hatred is spreading like wildfire (one needs to have 3 national ID’s with different tribal affiliations- it can and will save your life!!!), yet as Kenyans we want to close one eye to all this and assume our hakuna matata slogan. This kind of carribean attitude has precipitated to all this chaos. People did not have a vent to release all the volcanic build up in their systems… Everthing in Kenya is skewed, in the eyes of some Kenyans, this is the conclusion: SOME KENYANS ARE MORE EQUAL THAN OTHERS. Taking the life of such a kind hearted jamaa in a shitty way like that at such a time like this can only ignite revenge missions in the sma manner or worse!!!
i think kenyans are becoming too gullible. ati odm killed hon were! that is silly. odm is a family with rules and love.
some things yu need to know though. when yu say we fight do yu really know who is to fight who? only the poor and the idle are fighting as the rich continue doing what they like most - making more and more money and making love.
a warning though. the poor man will with time get tired and turn against the rich and the terms of this war shall have changed for good.
also there is a possibility of a junior soldier taking over, not gen kianga as yu might expect. the army is no longer united as witnessed in nakuru and naivasha this week. about 60% are kelenjins and yu might dispute it, followed by kambas and luyas. so can yu see why odm still feels comfortable and are not scared? the same applies to the police force including the much dreaded gsu- most of them are kalenjins. i am not a kalenjin but i know better. mark yu minus the uniform there is no difference between a general and a corporal.
Yes it bad sad and real shame coz Hon Were mugabe was the new generation, the killing should show the youth that wazee are not ready to leave spce for the new generation coz they have their claws in the national cake and will not bugle abit all R.i.P Hon Were.
